haulers

Anyone have any recommendations regarding haulers?  I need to donate a piano,a chair, and then have "stuff" that will go to the dump.  If you have any idea what this might cost - or know of a company, please let me know.

Unless the piano is a spinet or a grand/baby grand, getting rid of the piano is going to be difficult. And they're expensive to haul. I don't mean to be sad about that - I saved one from the dump myself a couple of years ago because the neighbour couldn't get rid of it - but it's true. Most people just buy electronic keyboards if they want to do piano now. But good luck and I hope you find a taker.

(On the other hand, if it's a spinet or a grand of any sort, you have a chance. A pretty good chance if it's a spinet. They're kind of fashionable at the moment, or so I'm told.)

Right now, I have 3 pianos and not one is a spinet.... I've run out of room.

For the piano, put a ad on craigslist for a free piano. I did that a few weeks ago and got about 300 emails within 2 hours. Just make sure you ad photos and that they have to haul it themselves. There is also this place: http://stage7pianos.com/?page_id=2326 they might take it.

The stuff for the dump. it will probably be cheaper for you to rent a Uhaul pick up for a day. Its $20

I'm sure by now you've found a solution to the problem you initially posted about, but if you ever run into that situation again and nothing you do seems to work, you can always rent a pick-up truck from U-Haul.
They rent for $19.95/day.
It may not be a perfect solution, but if nothing else seems to be working, it's a means to an end.
