Is *professional* experience necessary or personal experience qualifies?

I've been making my own sites for 12+ years, but only very minimal experience in corporate world during a 6mo internship, which was 5 years ago. (god. I can't believe that.)

Personal experience will qualify. Essentially the hiring manager is going to look at site samples and see how well formed your HTML is. If you have good form and show you are teachable, they'll be interested.
