So I have become aware that a very large number of my friends have been going on religious retreats. I usually try not to critisize religious practices of others but this is one that requires some comment. I have never found that retreats reinforced my own faith. Some men are islands. John Donne was wrong. I realized that i don't need anyone in my life but people are there just the same. I'm not complaining, I enjoy the company but it isn't a necessity. Girls are trouble. Particularly the just friends. And yet I like my female friends. COuld they just come without the emotional baggage and all their problems with their boyfriends? Am I just asking too much? This doesn't apply to a few of them but only the vast majority.

Do stars loose their lustre? Am I going blind? or is their a brighter one rising?
