"Do you really have to put so much pepper on your eggs?" After giving her lover a quick kiss on the top of her head and chiding her, Maria Ross smiled, shook her head and put her own plate down. She settled down at the breakfast table and started into her meal.
"It isn't going to hurt you. I have read in some places that it can actually be good for you. You should try some." Hawkeye, her hair still disheveled from the night before, let out a low sigh and took the pepper grinder from the table, ground a little into her eggs, then put it back down. She looked at her now speckled eggs for a moment before taking a bite and chewing.
"So... How is it?"
There was a pause for a moment, then a smile slowly spread across the blonde's face. "It is good, dear. I'm not usually a fan of sauces and condiments, but I'm glad you suggested it. I'll definitely remember it from now on."
The smug smile was not hard to miss on Ross' cherubic face, the grin covering what seemed like an inordinate amount of her face.
"I'm not going to live this down, am I?"
Ross didn't have to give an answer. She already knew the response.
Hawkeye rubbed the last bit of sleep from her eyes and sighed one more time. "It's going to be a long day."

Roy Mustang took another drink, the amber liquid burning slightly as it slid down his throat. He grimaced, then sighed lightly as he swallowed. The room swam, and people became hazy and doubled.
He didn't even notice the short, brown haired woman come in the door, her big eyes blinking away the smoke from behind her oversized glasses. It only took her a moment to find the Flame Alchemist and walked over to him, softly putting her hand on his shoulder so she wouldn't startle him.
"Roy, let's get you home." She softly whispered into his ear, giving him a light lick on the bottom of his earlobe.
He let out a long breath, drained the last of his drink, then attempted to stand up on his shaky legs, which promptly gave out from under him. He tumbled to the floor, taking Scieszka with him, and a jumble of arms and legs.
"I'm sorry.. I'm so sorry..." Roy blubbered, his voice breaking slightly, the very corners of his eyes becoming moist.
Scieszka stood up, dusted herself off, and helped Roy to his feet, putting his arm around her shoulder to keep him at least mostly upright. "It's okay. Let's go home and let you sleep this off."
"It's been 2 years, and I still can't get over it. He's gone, but I still drink myself stupid this same night every year- the night he died."
"He was your friend. I can understand why you miss him. He was a good man."
Roy nodded, staying quiet. He leaned on Scieszka and nodded his head, indicating that he was ready to go. "Thank you, Scieszka. I don't know where I would be without you."
As they slowly headed for the door, Roy could only hope that things would get better from now on.
