Yeah, I know I am a day late for Royai Day, but work was hell yesterday. I was supposed to get off at 9:00 PM and I didn't leave till after 10:00 PM... and I had a meeting at work at 8:00 AM the next morning. Not to mention that I live 30 minutes away from work so.. yeah. Suck.

Happy (late) Royai Day!!!
A knock on the door woke Riza from a light sleep. “Come in.”
The doorknob turned, then slowly opened. “Lieutenant?”
She knew that voice anywhere. “Sir?” But... how did he find her? She didn't hear any other voices as he opened the door, slowly peeking his head around the doorway. He was alone... and his eyes.
His EYES
“Sir.. you..”
A warm smile worked its way across Roy's face. “You look tired, Lieutenant. I'm sorry if I woke you, I can let you sleep if...”
“No!” The answer was too sharp, too loud. “No.” She said again, softer this time. “It's okay. It seems like all I've been doing is sleeping these last couple of days.” Riza studied his face. His eyes were dark- sharp, clear and focused.
“It isn't perfect.” He said, responding her her unsaid question. “Right now, things are a little fuzzy. But I can see things well enough to move around, and Marcoh said that it will continue to improve as my body gets used to having sight again.” The alchemist walked up to her bed, pulled up a chair, and sat next to her, taking her hand and gently running his finger down the back of her palm. “You're beautiful, you know. I never got to tell you that before.”
“Sir, I'm not sure that is appropriate. We're still in the military, and you know the laws.”
“I suppose you're right, Lieutenant.” He leaned away, pulling his hand away from hers. There were a few moments of awkward silence before either of them spoke.
“Where do we go from here, sir?”
“Right now, I don't know. Everything is a bit crazy right now. I've heard rumors that General Grumman is going to be named interim Fuhrer, at least until things calm down a little bit.” He saw the shock on her face “I'm not sure what's going to happen to the people who helped bring down the former Fuhrer.”
“Do you think.. there could be repercussions for us?”
“Not for you, Lieutenant. I'll make sure that none of my team goes down. All of my subordinates were merely following my orders.”
“Sir! No.. I ..”
“It's entirely possible that nothing will come of it. Hell, he was so evil, we may get promoted for it. But just in case, I will let Grumman know that I take full responsibility.” Roy pat her hand softly and smiled. “Don't worry about it, Lieutenant. We have made it through this far, I am not going to be stopped now. Not when I am close enough to see it.”
A small chuckle escaped Riza's lips. She understood the double meaning of what he said. “Yes, sir.”
“I'm going to be busy again. Follow me.”
Riza smiled at the dark haired alchemist. “Of course, sir. You don't even have to ask.”
