Luke was feeling a lot more confident (or consistent, rather) today, mostly because the cleaning lady and Bryan Murphy had gone out drinking last night and were getting along in the "I did things I'm not proud of last night so I'm gonna act nice for a couple weeks so you don't tell people about it" kind of way. Percy had thought he was dead. He had hoped he was dead even. He'd convinced himself of that fact and was now gaping at the fact that he wasn't.

"No, actually I didn't," Percy snapped, glaring at Luke and how slippery he'd proven to be. He had feelers out everywhere, people in every city and no one had found him.

"What are you doing here?" he asked, gripping the handle of the door until his fingers turned white. "Did you miss me?"
