Percy had listened to the radio. Percy knew there were kids on the island and Percy really wondered if he and Luke had just gotten lucky yesterday or if their comeuppance was, well, coming. So far, no kids had shown up but Percy remembered last year and he just couldn't quite let his guard all the way down despite no visits just yet

Luke came into the room with a coffee in one hand and a Coke for Percy in the other. 'Cause he was thoughtful like that. "Are we still in the clear?"

He couldn't believe they were kid-free this year after being knee deep in them for the last two.

"Nothing so far," Percy said though he still sounded wary. "Maybe they're lost or something?"

"Maybe they're causing chaos on the island, being overpowered brats and everything," Luke said, handing over bottle of Coke. "Or we could have just gotten lucky this year."

"Yeah, I don't know if I trust the island to be that nice," Percy said, reaching for the Coke. "Thanks. There a lot of kids running around?"
