I thought it worked well. It's a bit disorienting at first because of the time jumps, but that's part of the point. The writing itself is evocative and lyrical without being overdone.

Ugh you have no idea how worried I was that this was going to end up being the most confusing piece of purple prose ever /o\ I'm still not sure it hasn't! But thank you so much for this comment, and I'm really glad you thought it worked!

Believe me, this was nowhere near as confusing as other pieces I've read, and the prose was far from purple.

I'm a big fan of alternate writing styles, and the language here worked SO well for me. Very clipped and angsty, well done.

fascinating Sherlock voice. the style conveys the almost claustrophobic feel inside his over-full brain. lovely!
