actually I was expecting 8 days or so, so 7 is good but not that abnormal.

Wow, that's incredible. Most people stay in the hospital for that long after an appendectomy.

I stayed almost as long when I had my gllbladder out laparoscopically, last year.

I have to kind of echo dcjaywalk. When I had my appendix removed, I was in the hospital for 8 days. Of course, that was also 32 years ago...

shanex was in for a week a couple of years ago, for an appendectomy.

makes sense. my entry into the hospital was somewhat more controlled than with emergency surgery.

but remember, even though the timing was short notice in my case, it wasn't emergency surgery or anything.
