You're the in depth student of animal behaviour, Sebkha ...it's my impression the weasel is doing several key things here ( 1 ) despite being pretty much hungry nonstop while awake (metabolism that runs on nitruous) the weasel liked the egg so much (the one consumed) that time was spared from looking for more food to store the zomg tasty food. This to me speaks of a fairly complex shading of emotional response compared to how animals are normally presented
(2) the weasel is keenly aware even before getting to the fence or whatever is being tunneled under "I am squishy and can get through any space the size of my skull, the egg will break if I don't widen the space to accommodate it" This seems like a fairly good abstract picture of the world compared to how I was taught in school that animals possessed.
That was both incredibly scarily cute and illustrative (and I see a piece of why you're obsessed with ermines now...I thought ferrets were neat but this critter resonates with even keener intent than I've seen from ferrets.

Also the weasel definitely knows that the human with the camera is there, but that the human is harmless and/or too slow to bother it while it's dealing with the egg.
Or maybe it's just very cheeky, as weasels often are. :)
