Sam couldn't think straight by this point. He thought he finally had someone that he'd never have to lose, someone he'd never have to see go. But of course, fate or in this case devine interventiona well.... intervened. He's lost everyone he's ever truly, deeply loved. His Angel with those golden eyes and bright smile was gone, off to heaven to ( Read more... )

Bill spends his time while Sam is away trying to work his legs, get back in control of his body. When he's able to take a few wobbly steps, he sits down heavily again, hauling in a deep breath.

"You hurry up, Gabriel. You hear me? We both need you back. Close to a thousand years, you know I'm no good on my own, remember?"

Offering him a smile, Tuck stretches out his legs. "Gettin a feel for things again." He accepts the coffee with a smile. "That smells amazing Sam, thank you."

Sam pocketed his hands, a nervous movement, but he tried to cover up the nervousness by smiling softly. He had to stay strong for the other man. Help him through this very tough time. But Sam never did well on his own. He'd been with the angel for years, sharing the same bed even though Gabriel never slept. Sam fell asleep next to his angel....

How the hell was he gonna sleep tonight. Yeah... he wasn't gonna be able to sleep. He already knew that.

"That's great," Sam said, bright smile forcing dimples to dig into his cheeks. "You'll be back on your feet in no time. Maybe in a few days we can go and get you some food that you'll like, extra clothes. I'd offer you some of mine but... I doubt they'd fit."

He finished with a chuckle as he sat back down on his desk chair. Yeah, it'd be difficult, but Sam was sure he could do it. He could fake his emotions. Hell, he may even grow to like the guy. Bill didn't seem like a bad guy, he just wasn't what Sam was expecting.

They'd both be up that night, it was a fairly safe bet. Sam was used to sleeping with Gabriel close and Tuck.. wasn't used to sleeping. At least not like most humans. It was going to take awhile to get back into the habit of it.

He laughs quietly. "Yeah, I don't think they'd do for more than blankets."

The coffee is hot and bitter and god does it taste good. He sits back with a sigh. "I'll try not to clatter around too much but.. don't know if I'm going to be able to sleep until I wear myself right the hell out."

Sam was planning on staying up in the library. He had some cataloging to do and hopefully that would keep his mind occupied and off the fact that his angel was gone.

"Well, we'll get you some of those too. I'll set you up with the room next to mine. My brother, Dean, his room is across the hall from mine. So you'll be able to get to us if you need anything," he said with a soft smile.

"We've got a whole bunch of stuff here that you could do if you needed to tire yourself out. We've got a few old movies on reels, cards. But tomorrow we'll go shopping. See if we can find something to keep you happy."

Cause right now that's all that mattered to Sam; this man from another time and his happiness. Besides shutting the gates of Hell, Sam had a second job. He had to watch out for Gabriel's vessel.
