Sam slipped out of the passenger seat of Dee's car and onto wobbly legs. One of his hips popped in quiet annoyance for sitting for so long. Well, they were home now so it could stop complaining. Sam stretched a little and closed the car door behind him ( Read more... )

When Sam told her to park, Dee looks around with a raised brow before turning off the car and stepping out. Shutting the door, she looks around as she makes her way around the car to Sam's side. That was when he pointed to the metal and Dee nods as she walks behind him. Once the key unlocked the door, it was pushed open and Dee walks in. Slowly she starts to walk around the one room which looked like they used it to do research. She grins and walks around the table in the middle the room as she took it all in.

That was when she looked over her shoulder at Sam. "So...it's like your guys own personal bat cave." Dee smiles at him before turning her head back around and looks over the room more. "This is actually pretty damn cool."

Sam smiled at her after making his way down the stairs into the main room. He was pretty happy he could finally get her in here. It was good to be able to share this new part of him with her. Hell, it was almost like taking her home to meet the folks ( ... )

Sam lead her into the other room which looked like a library. She knew that this had to be his favorite room and one that he spent the most time in. Dee walks over to the bookcases and started to read some of the spines of the books that sat on the shelf before her eyes roam the room as a whole. "I can see why this is where you spend most of the time. It suits you."

Her fingertips drag along the wood of one of the tables in the room as she walks around it to stand in front of Sam. "I'm glad that you wanted to share this place with me. Hope you know that." Dee kisses his lips lightly before resting back on her heels. "On with the tour?"

Sam had a gentle smile on his lips as he watched her go about the room. A woman in their secret club house... Dean was gonna flip. But this was Sam's house too and he could bring other hunters into it if he wanted to.

His smile was even softer when she kissed him, his hand coming up to rest gently on her upper arm. "Yeah, sure," he said as he pushed himself off of the wall to show her the next room. He lead her back behind the stairs to the infirmary.

"This is where we mend our wounds," he said, again, leaning up against a wall to rest. Why the hell was he so damn tired?

Dee wasn't surprised by his answer. The Winchester boys were always on the go and jumping from one job to another. It was in their DNA and they didn't know what a vacation was. One day she hoped she could convince him to at least take a weekend to rest up, but right now? This job was way too important and she couldn't and wouldn't fight him on it. The comment he made about Dean got her attention. There was definitely something more going on than what he was telling her ( ... )

No. Sam and Dean knew what vacations were. They just usually took them after jobs. But this job has lasted all year. And Sam knew it would be his last job so he was okay without taking a vacations. He'd be able to rest forever soon enough. He'd rest and wait for Dean to meet him in heaven.

"Dee, all I do is rest. I'm just tired of being tired," he said, feeling a tickle in the back of his throat. He cleared his throat before continuing. "But I have faith in Kevin and... and then the job'll be over and... it'll be okay. I'll be okay, I promise."

He smiled up at her. She worried so much about him and he loved her for it. "You are and I thank you for it. You...you really don't need to hang out here with me though. I mean, you're welcome to stay but... yeah..."

It was getting a little frustrating dancing around what the job was and why he was that tired. Dee didn't want to pressure him into telling her because she wanted him to want to tell her what was going on. She bites at her bottom lip to keep her from saying what she wanted and ask the questions she wanted answers to. "I know you will be okay after all of this." It was nerve wracking to her though with some of the comments he had made ( ... )

Sam could see he wheels in her head working, trying to figure out what the hell his job was. He felt bad, keeping things from her and it wasn't just to keep her safe. It was to keep her calm and keep her from demanding he stop the trials.

Maybe he'd tell her... eventually.

"I'll always need you around," he said before taking in another breath to continue. Too bad that other breath had different plans. Another tickle in the back of his throat sent him into a coughing fit. He shot up in bed as he covered his mouth, praying that no blood would make an appearance.

But it did anyway. He hacked and coughed, moving to lean over the side of the bed, one hand gripping tight to the comforter. He could already taste the blood on his tongue, knowing when he pulled his hand away there would be more than a little blood there.

Dee could tell that he was fumbling with the words in his head and trying to find an easy way to say what he wanted to. When he explained what the last trial was and how the last person that tried to do it died a little after her heart fell right into her stomach and started beating at a rapid pace. There was no sugar coating this one. Sam had it in his mind that he was going to die and he was okay with it. She had to bite at her bottom lip to keep herself together and closes her eyes as he asked what he promised of her ( ... )

Sam let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. He hoped she wouldn't fight him on it and it looked like it worked but... he was still worried about what she would do afterwards... after he was gone. He was worried that she wouldn't be able to stop Dean from doing something stupid.

"Thank you," he breathed, leaning over to press his forehead against her's. He letnhis eyes slip shut. "I'm so sorry."

After everything, all the holding back and pushing away... after all that he finally lets her close and now he's gonna die. He finally lets himself have something good and now he's gonna lose it and hurt her so much more than he could have ever done if he was never with her.

How was she supposed to fight him on it? He had already started the trials and who knew if he was going to survive if he stopped? Arguing with him would have just been pointless. Sam already had it set in his mind that he was doing this and nothing Dee could say would change his mind. He was going to save the world from Hell by shutting it down forever. He is and would be a hero whether he saw that or not. She would do what she promised and try her best to make Dean let Sam rest but she wasn't sure if he would listen to her ( ... )

Sam pulled back a little when she spoke, looking into those bright eyes of her's. He'd promise her the moon if she wanted it. "Of course," he said, dark circles under his eyes telling exactly how tired he was.

He ran his thumb over her knuckles in a soothing manner, trying to comfort her as best as he could right now. He could see the tears and he knew how much this was and still could hurt her. He just didn't know who else to ask for help. Dean certainly wouldn't let him go, he already knew that but... Dee would. Dee would love him enough to let him go. At least he hoped she would.
