Yay! *loves it* Always thought she'd feel guilty, though she really couldn't have done anything...Glad Lorne made sure she knew she'd done the right thing.

I'm so glad you like it! I'd feel guilty too, but really, what's she going to do -- fight them off with her quick wit and a bucket of fertilzer? And Lorne's all for making sure people know it's all good.

She was pretty sure she hadn’t heard the ‘trans-galactically’ part when she said yes to whatever they offered.

I don't think that's ever in the job description when SGC hires you. They have this whole ritual of kicking your ass once you arrive and it's too late to back out ^_^

I adore the realism of Heather, and very much can empathise with the need to just write things down, even if no one will read them. Dude, I don't think anyone on Earth really compares to the Genii mentality - You have to understand basic Pegasus value systems and realities of life before you can start to understand the extremes that people there will go to without even considering it immoral.

It's like one big April Fool, I think. 'Hey you want this really really neat job?' and people say yes and the SGC snickers behind their backs going 'just wait till they meet the man-eating plants/crazy farmers/life sucking space vampires'.

The Genii are in a class all by themselves, which I why I adore the entire group. It's despiration, pure and simple, and when you're about to be annihilated by either space vampires or illness from your own nuclear testing, is there really anything that you wouldn't do? Love them.

*Nods* You've nailed the Genii head on - They're pure desperation; it's what drives them, even if you take into account that they don't realize that their radiation is killing them (And not just the straight radiation sickness that's going to get them, but population size decreases as well (I have this whole post recently about Genii Birthrates)).

And yeah, I'm sure there are whole unofficial ritual inductions for new members in the various departments. Well, that and a lot of unofficial "Watch the newbie freak out" CCTV video parties. At least most of the SGA crew filter through SGC first so it's not quite the shock it might be.
