The pardon power is absolute. That being said, do a search for Clinton's pardons during the last few days of his time in office. In addition to his brother, he also pardoned a number of extremely shady people that caused quite a bit of controversy

Uhh... you seem to have forgotten that a *jury* convicted Scooter. Which means that Fitzpatrick had so much evidence that Libby was obstructing his investigation that twelve people didn't have a single reasonable doubt. He's guilty. Deal with it. As for the dems impeaching Bush for commuting, I never said that. I said they'd never impeach for all the other crap he's done, including but not limited to undeclared war on a sovereign state (not that any of us really liked Saddam, but legally that doesn't matter) and warrantless domestic spying. Perhaps you're willing to throw out the Fourth Amendment, but I'm not.
