I was *wondering* about that party you were hosting... is that past tense now? (Your hostessing gig at the party, not the party itself).

Gotcha. I am not privy to some of your posts (I remember your big LJ re-classification a while back) so I missed that one.

I feel like a fair-sized problem with the parties is the many-headed Hydra that organized/took credit for them. It seemed to be at cross-purposes. Philosophically, not everyone was on the same page as to what that party should be doing. And it should always first and foremost be about the event itself, not taking credit, and only about money to insure survival.

Not to tell tales out of school, but i think the element you speak of is too niche a market for that party to be successful, and that this wasn't recognized by the very person/s who encouraged that element -- a mercenary who doesn't give a fig about the trans scene or the community, if it orbits anywhere past their own selves.

I wasn't looking for a successful party in a sense, I wanted a cool scene. I wanted people to blend and mix and crash into each other creating something exciting. But unfortunately the uncooth segment of the population is very polarizing and easily scares away cool/desirable elements ( ... )

I love you too. Want to go to Massachusetts? There might still be color in the trees and the Redsox are playing the Indians this weekend.
