Vaguely educational but weird and useless New Year's presents!!!

((Please to be pretending that this happened on Jan. 1? I've been a little under the weather.))

Djehuty finds Christmas to be--disconcerting. Djehutymes had been very enthusiastic about presents the whole prospect and that's fine; but this year Djehuty did not send out any gifts for the Christian holiday ( Read more... )

Thorn is initially confused by the gift, and is forced to look up several of the words. The flask goes on the top of the bookshelf along with the handful of other noteable items he's recieved from friends in the past. A note is returned.

it is beautiful I will try to honour the new year. I have been thinking a lot about what we talked about. I think I will be okay. I am trying to make things better and make myself better. I hope the Nexus is very good to you this year.

Thorn,

I am glad that you have felt better since we talked. Any time you like, I can be about.

Thank you! I hope the Nexus is also good to you!

Courtney shows the flask to her uncle, and they agree to put it on the shelf in his study, away from rambunctious cats and curious parents.

Thank you, Djehuty. Happy New Year!

((And I hope you feel better. :-/))

Schreber turns the flask all around a couple times to admire it and shows it off to Sarah. He puts it on the dresser by his locked cabinet of vials because he's pretty sure it's too heavy for the pets to knock over. He writes a letter back.

Dearest Djehuty,
Thank you for the flask! I think it will be a very good year and I am already thinking how much better things are from this time last year. I have had a very good beginning to the year and I hope you have too.
Sarah would love for us to have you here for tea sometime. As long as you warn us first and pinpoint inside the house there's no reason for you to disguise yourself as human. Let us know whenever you'd like to come please, and I wish you all the best.

((Thank you! I pretty much am.))

Daniel,

I am so glad that your year has started well. And please, when is convenient for you? My time is quite free, and I am most eager to visit. Can I bring anything?
