I do have a tiny nitpick. Your profile lists Chinese as one of the languages he knows, but this gives me an impression otherwise.

It wouldn't make sense that Lavi didn't know Chinese though. I could just be assuming that Lavi and Bookman have traveled through China (Bookman looks Chinese D: ).

A lot of things don't really make perfect sense in D.Gray-man, uh, realism-wise (although it's usually fairly obvious why it was done that way... it's just in bad taste plot-wise), such as how Cross somehow never told Allen what Innocence was or how Kanda excelled in battle in his Reverse chapter but died[?] to one level 2 in Matel. I had always assumed that Lavi just hadn't gotten to the point of learning Chinese yet.

Lurker has some comments... I've noticed you use Japanese honorifics when Lavi gives people nicknames, but, well, Lavi's not Japanese. I don't know if you've been doing this as much lately, but I've seen you do it in the past. Yes, Lavi gives people nicknames and all that, but there doesn't have to be a 'chan' or whatever on the end to make it a nickname. Non-Japanese characters using Japanese honorifics kind of bothers me, and I don't exactly think Lavi would go around using them that much, either, since from what I remember of the anime, he didn't use them; Allen was Allen, Kanda was Yuu, Lenalee was Lenalee, etc.

Also, the other reason I point this out is because I doubt that Lavi knows that much Japanese. Sure, he probably knows a bit, but I don't think it would be that much, since at the time of D.Gray-Man, Japan is kind of closed off from the rest of the world, if you remember, and Kanda is like one of few Japanese people that exist outside of Japan.

So... yeah. =D;

Hmm that's a good point. Well I haven't had him use the nicknames on his castmates, only on other people, but I see where you're coming from.

I'll start using less of the honorifics and more actual nicknames. That'd be better, right?

Haha yeah, but I'm assuming he would know Japanese--the original reason I had here looked really lame when I reread it. Okay, I'm gonna cut back what he knows in Japanese XD;;

Alright, I'll start doing that. For the nicknames he's already given, I'm going to keep those if it doesn't bug you too much (it'd just be odd if he suddenly changed what he was saying)
