Title: Decisions (Part A)
Pairing: Harry/Louis (Larry Stylinson)
Summary: Prompted by an Anon on Tumblr; Louis and Harry plan different ways in which to come out, finally deciding one on.
“We could do something on Alan Titchmarsh,” Harry suggested, idly playing with Louis’ fingers as they lay sprawled out on the couch, some boring documentary playing quietly in the background.
“It was our first real interview as a band, so it would be like going full circle in a way.”
The Doncaster boy smiled softy, remembering the day in vivid detail. It was one that was burned onto all five boys’ minds, the first milestone in their career outside of the X-factor. Of course, it wasn’t just because of that, that he remembered it so much.
Backstage at Alan Titchmarsh was where he and Harry had first kissed. Well, shared their first proper kiss, (their first had been during judges houses. So short that neither were even sure that it had even happened, but the tingling on their lips proved that it had. Still, they ignored it and moved on as best friends, which was why neither counted it as their first.)
At the time, Louis’ hadn’t been able to understand why Harry had been acting so distant and strange, almost as though he was jealous. He had been fine before the interview, perfectly normal throughout it, until the inevitable question had been asked, of course.
Hannah had been so pleased of how he talked about their relationship, that he wasn’t ashamed of having a normal girlfriend, and that in itself had made him feel even worse for doing what he did, yet he knew that he would have done the exact same thing in a heartbeat.
-
“Why are you acting so weird, Haz? What’s the matter?” His voice broke on the last word. Harry had always told him everything. They didn’t have any secrets from each other, not one. The other boys found it strange how they would talk about things like what they had for breakfast, right down to what they thought about in the shower, yet they didn’t. They were Harry and Louis, and the other was their everything. The fact that Harry was obviously keeping something from him now, was hurting him more than it should have.
“I’m not acting weird. Just forget it, okay?”
“No. Harry, there’s obviously something going on with you and I know I’m probably not the person you want to be there for you, I know I’m a little hyper and a bit crazy so I understand if you’d rather go to Liam or someone, but I thought we were close enough to-”
“Lou, stop it.” the younger males voice was so soft, so delicate that it made the shorter boy do exactly that.
“You know I love you just the way you are, so stop putting yourself down.” Harry sighed.
“So tell me what’s wrong… please?” Louis’ hands were now resting on the taller boys shoulders, and with some difficulty he was looking into his eyes. When green met blue, something passed between them. A silent understanding. Of what, neither were sure. All that they knew, was that when their lips met cautiously, it felt right.

After that kiss, there was no way they could have pretended that there was nothing more than platonic love brewing between them, yet no matter how much they cared about each other, Harry was not going to let him cheat on Hannah. (Drunken snogs in the privacy of their own home, they decided, was not cheating.)
When they did break up, it wasn’t really a surprise. Hannah had sensed that something had changed within their relationship and was tremendously gracious about the whole thing, to which Louis was glad as he really didn’t want to lose her as a friend.
“What are you thinking about?” a husky voice whispered in his ear, automatically sending shivers down the Doncaster boy’s spine.
“Just the last time we were on there,” he smiled softly.
After a moments silence, he sat up with an idea.
“Hey, sticking with the full-circle theme, why don’t we go onto the X-tra factor? I think it’d be really, I don’t know, special or something. And I’d love to see Caroline’s face…”
The Cheshire boy raised an eyebrow, smirking.
“Still Jealous, Tomlinson?”
It had been a long time since they felt awkward discussing ex’s with each other, not that Caroline was even an ex to be honest, just someone he’d kissed during one of his and Louis’ many break-ups. Of course, when they had gotten back together the next week he felt so guilty and ended up breaking down in the shorter boy’s arms, sobbing his heart out and promising to do anything to get Louis to forgive him. He had, instantly, and they had been stronger than ever.
“No,” he smiled, wrapping his arms around his boyfriend. “Just wanting to show her who you really belong to.”
“Oh, and I belong to you know, hmm?” Harry chuckled, secretly loving how Louis had called him his.
“You bet your arse, you do.” The older boy grinned, pulling at the Harry’s collar gently to reveal a fairly large, but fading, love bite.
“See? Proof.”
The curly haired teen grinned, before crashing his lips against the other lad’s. Even after all this time, every kiss still felt like their first.
“How about doing something for Sugarscape? They love us, after all.” Harry suggested once they had parted, foreheads resting against each others.
“Hmm… bit impersonal, don’t you think? It’ll take them a few days to get it out there, and I don’t think I’ll be able to keep my hands off of you in public for even a second once we’ve told someone.”
The taller boy grinned, kissing his boyfriend once more.
“That’s true… so, we want something that relates to the beginning of our career, forward slash relationship, something personal to the fans, and something that will spread quickly enough for me to be able to snog you senseless on a street corner. Did I miss anything?”
Louis smiled.
“No, I think you pretty much covered it all.”
Both boys were silent for a minute, deep in thought. As their eyes met one more time, a smile spread on both of their faces. They had the perfect idea.
