Take a look for yourself [Background]
Morgana grew up believing that she was the daughter of Gorlois, a knight of Camelot, and Vivienne, sister to the Queen of Camelot, Ygraine. Both of her parents died when she was young, and she was raised in the castle as the King's Ward.
She has been plagued with strange nightmares ever since she was a child; nightmares which Gaius tried his best to treat with potions. However, as she grew older, the nightmares became worse. She becomes increasingly confused and frightened when she realizes that the dreams that she is terrorized by seem to foretell the future.
When her powers start to grow, and she finds herself accidentally setting her room on fire, Morgana begins to fear that she had magic. At the advice of Merlin, she sought out the Druids and learned not to fear her powers anymore. However, she knew the dangers of exposing her powers and feared Uther's reaction should he ever find out.
While she'd always been against Uther's hate for sorcery, her fear of being discovered, along with her bitterness at Uther's involvement in her father's death, causes her to begin to hate Uther. She has come to the realization that Uther will never change, and she is certain that he would have her killed if he ever finds out about her powers.
She is lured to a meeting with Morgause, where she is unknowingly put into a spell. When Morgana awakes in Camelot, believing that her meeting with Morgause was only a dream, she is alarmed to find that everyone around her begins to fall asleep. She is frightened and feels helpless to do anything about it. Merlin discovers that Morgana is actually the vessel carrying the curse and poisons her.
More detailed history here [Personality]
Morgana is far more than just a pretty face; she's also a strong, independent, fiery woman. She is one of the few people in Camelot who isn't afraid to stand up to Uther, and when things get rough, she's proven herself to be capable with a sword as well. She has been known to speak her mind and risk her life for those she considers friends (and even sometimes for innocent strangers, such as Mordred.) As strong as she is, however, Morgana can be prone to hysterics when she feels trapped or unable to do anything about a situation.
She has a very close relationship with Arthur and also with her maidservant Gwen. When either of them were in trouble, Morgana never hesitated to step up and defend them. She's also been Arthur's moral compass on various occasions, being the only person who could take a stance and advise him to go against his father's orders. Morgana's morals are strong and unwavering and she will stop at nothing to right what she believes to be wrong. It has been shown several times that she cannot stand to watch the innocent get punished for something they don't deserve.
However, as she begins to realize her magical abilities, her personality begins to darken. The terror of what could happen to her should anyone figure out about her powers, added to the fact that she felt isolated by her abilities, lead her to become alienated toward those she once thought were friends. She beings to think that she needs to either side with magic or against it, and that there is no middle road. She forms strong bonds with those who have magic, feeling like they understand her, and as she watches Uther murder those that she feels are innocent, she begins to seriously despise him. She later confides in Morgause, whom she is mysteriously drawn to, that she wishes to free Camelot from Uther's tyranny.
For many reasons, her relationship with Arthur, becomes increasingly strained. As Arthur becomes more and more confused over his own crisis, he fails to realize that Morgana is going through a major crisis of her own. While they'd always been incredibly close, (perhaps even romantically interested in each other at some point) and Morgana knew he loved her enough to never turn her into Uther if he found out about her secret, she was afraid of how he'd view her if he knew.
She also forms a strong relationship with Merlin; when she is terrified at the discovery of her new powers, he is the one she confides in. However, after realizing that Merlin had poisoned her, Morgana loses her trust in him as well.
Morgana is becoming increasingly frightened and confused as time goes on. She has lost the ability to truly trust others who are without magic, fearing how they'd view her if they found out about her powers. She is also slowly being consumed with bitterness and hate toward Uther and his war against magic. Morgana is more likely to side with those who have magical powers, regardless of how good or evil their intentions are (she is easily deceived that they are the good, having witnessed Uther act as the evil countless times before.) While her personality has not been completely blackened, she is far more susceptible to manipulation, now. Going through this transition in her life has caused her to question everything and everyone, making it easy for anyone to mold her into whatever they'd like, with the right words and actions.
She is aware that she has powers, but currently has no idea what the extent of her powers are. Any acts of magic she has done up until now have been involuntary.
[Specialties/Abilities]
¤ She is a sorceress, but she has yet to learn the extent of her powers and the only magic she has performed thus far have been involuntary. She can also see the future in her dreams, but right now she has no control over when or what she sees. Generally, these dreams come in the form of nightmares.
¤ Morgana is skilled with a sword. However, it is unlikely that she has ever actually seen serious action. She has joked that she's beaten Arthur before, but it is currently unconfirmed, as Arthur denied it.
[Affection] She's the King's Ward, so she is accustomed to certain standards... but feel free to be as affectionate as you'd like!
[Fighting] Go ahead and attack her if you'd like! She's good with a sword, and will try to defend herself if attacked.
[Other Permissions]
I'm pretty open to just about everything. Feel free to break her brain with fourth wall breaking and the likes. If it's significant, talk to me first before doing anything. But otherwise, have at her.
[Other Facts]
¤ I'm thinking her Dreamberry will probably stay in the form of
a bracelet Morgause gave her when inactive. She thinks the bracelet keeps her safe from her nightmares.
¤ I'm pulling her right after she goes unconscious from Merlin's poison. So there hasn't been any corruption on Morgause's part yet, which means that Morgana still gets to keep a lot of her morals and she hasn't fallen to the dark side just yet. :3 She also doesn't know that she's Uther's daughter.
¤ She can see the future in her dreams~ She can't control this, and usually her dreams are fairly disjointed. But if you have any plot ideas, I'd be happy to hear them!
