So... an animal is said to have created your world? Arceus being the Original One?

[Excuse this guy; his knowledge of pokémon is very limited. And you can just hear him mispronouncing Arceus' name. But you also get a thoughtful look as he ponders the creation of his world(s).]

I don't know about the creation of my home world. But the floating continent I lived on was created by a mage. A bad one. He disrupted the balance of light and dark, which ripped out part of the world and threw it into the sky. We were chosen because of the imbalance he caused, so I think it's true.

I've been to another world, but... [HMMM HOW TO WORD THIS?] it was really weird. Like it was incomplete. That world would bring people from other worlds, like Vatheon does. But parts of it looked like they were from the worlds we came from.

Yes, a pokemon.

That does seem very strange. For the pokemon world, I believe there's only our world and the Distortion World, which is a world of antimatter. It, also... seemed incomplete. Gravity didn't work properly; you would be walking in a way you thought was upright until you found a wall, and simply ended up walking flat along that. Waterfalls flowed upwards, or sideways... everything about that world was so chaotic and yet, so quiet.

So there's no mythology on the existence of your universe?

[Onion Knight looks pretty thoughtful at the description of the Distortion World]

I wonder if there's a purpose for your Distortion World. If something created it for a simpler purpose, instead of creating a world for life to flourish.

As for my own world... [A quick glance away] I don't know. People in my village didn't even know there was a world below the floating continent. The Gulgans probably have a world creation story, but we didn't have much time to talk to them.

It's the domain of a pokemon called Giratina. I believe it may exist to counter-balance our known universe, but I'm not certain on that.

They didn't assume that there was a planet's gravitational pull that was keeping their continent from drifting into space?

Hmph. So it's like Mew then and not just a myth.

What are the other three that writing speaks of?

The pokemon's existence isn't a myth, at the very least. And its ability to create legendaries is also not one.

The three that were born after Dialga and Palkia were the guardians of Sinnoh's lakes; Mesprit, Uxie, and Azelf.

I also have mythology collected about them.

Wouldn't it have had to create Mew first though? As I understand it, that's the ancestor of all Pokemon.

I'd be interested in seeing what mythology you have one them, too.

It is said that all pokemon evolved from mew, but I think that general rule has to exclude the pokemon in this myth for that to be true.

Maybe next time, then.

My name is Cynthia. What's your name, trainer? [That's right, she spotted it a mile away.]

At one point, yes, but we had to part ways for business soon afterwards.

Not of creation, just it's destruction.

No stories at all of how existence came to be?

None at all.

How strange. I'd think that people would wonder such a thing...

I don't know about the real world, but there's a fictional mythology in The World - which is a game I play - about the creation of it. It doesn't go into much detail, but the elemental gods of The World are real and can be summoned by players who have gotten to a high enough level to learn those spells. There's Wryneck, the Spirit of Darkness; Yarthkins, the Spirit of Earth; Vulcan, the Spirit of Fire; Lanceor, the Spirit of Thunder; Merrows, the Spirit of Water; and Krake, the Spirit of Wood. There's also the Cross-legged God Hebiguso, who is higher than all of those and can't be summoned.

Ah, I love fantasy novels. Fantasy stories in general! People have such lovely imaginations.

They can, yeah. I think there might have been more detail planned about the backstory, but it didn't really get developed. The creator of the game... if I met who I think I did, I'm pretty sure he went crazy either just before or just after finishing the game.
