[You get a mildly interesting sight, vatheon; Cynthia with her hair up in a ponytail, casual clothes on, and a Gible in her lap. The gible is gnawing on a melon that's about the perfect size for its mouth.]So! There are some new trainers out there that are raising baby pokemon. I thought it would be a good idea to talk about making sure they're ( Read more... )

Miss Cynthia? Trainers are breeding pokemon here? [Like Cynthia, Touko has a pokemon out - A Shiny Volcarona that's playing with an Adamant Orb in the background. Touko has no idea what to do with the Orb - the Shadow Triad didn't tell her much - so it was given to the fire moth to play with for now.] Awww. He's so cute.

Gible's are dragon type, right?

Vid // hahah okay; I generally keep that whole scenario vague anyway secretpotion August 29 2011, 19:36:10 UTC
There are, but I'm hoping to keep it at a controlled minimum. Since so many people don't know much of anything about pokemon at all.

They are! My personal favorites.

Re: Vid // <3 XD Yea. I need to go back and battle her soon too. darkstone_hero August 29 2011, 20:21:44 UTC
Really? That's... [just so wrong not to know about pokemon. :(] weird. Hmmm... breeding around people that know nothing about them is risky anyway because what happens if they provoke a pokemon or just take an egg without asking? I know that both my girls would not tolerate that. [Angry Hydreigon = DNW. Angry Fire moth? DNW either.]

They kinda look like Axew, but cuter. Not as cute as Deinos though. [When they are not trying to bite your ankles as you try and find your way out of Victory Road. ;__; Then they are OMG GET AWAY DAMNIT.] I wouldn't mind a team of dragons, but It depends if Zek and Sammy are willing to share.

Generally, dragons are a bit more dangerous than other types. I'd rather get them familiar with pokemon like starly or other weaker pokemon first.

Hah, dragon types take a lot of patience.

[...oh, this is interesting.]

...N gave me a Zorua egg.

[If you were taking a survey. But there is some dry humor here, subtly.]

Though I am sure that he won't allow me to mistreat him, more information is never a bad thing. I would appreciate any advice.

I've never raised a Zorua before! I've always wanted to, but they're quite rare.

I've heard that a good gift for a zorua exploring its illusion powers is a mirror.

[...Huh. He didn't realize quite what a gift it was, perhaps. But at the same time...he knows very well just how much of a gift it was.]

Maybe I can bring him to see you sometimes.

[....ah...]

A mirror? Alright, I'll be sure to remember that and find him one. Thank you.

I'd like that! We can arrange a playdate with gible here.

[She pats the dragon's head as it docilely gums on the still-intact melon.]

[Oh, this is good timing, as Booster has developed a keen interest in the lake.]

Should I keep my Flareon out of the water? He wants to swim, but I don't know if it would hurt a Fire-type Pokémon.

I would say to keep him out of water. A warm sponge bath is usually how you'd groom one, but dousing them isn't a good idea.

Yeah, I have a spray bottle so when he gets dirty I can spray a mist on him, ne? And then brush out the dirt. Then he just evaporates the water off. I think he just wants to swim so he can chase the ducks better.

Good! As for the problem with ducks... well. Just make sure to exercise him plenty well before he sees them, and it will make him more compliant to taking orders.

Do you have a pokeball?

It's nice to see so many people who know how to really raise their Pokemon.

I'd hope so! I've been doing this since I was a kid.

That's great! Do you have a favourite type?

Oh, that's such a hard question. I really like all types! I enjoy having a balanced team, if anything... and it's fun to explore all kinds of new battle strategies.

You're working with Silver? [but he is glad to see the other Gible hatched]

He's very troubling, and normally I'd let the influence of other trainers handle him and shape him properly, but since there aren't any, I've taken it into my own hands.

He needs some sort of role model, and he'll take the word of a champion over others.

[Sigh! She'd rather not have to but she doesn't want to let Silver run completely amok.]

He seems too influenced by his father and his stupid organization to care much about what everyone else has to say. Does he actually listen to you? [AS MUCH AS HE DOES TRUST CYNTHIA, he finds this a bit hard to believe.]

That's because he believes in his father. It doesn't take much to see that.

But he does. I'd like to say it's my feminine charm, but I really think it's just my title.

[She laughs at her own dry humor, but she doesn't seem disheartened.]

But if that title gave me anything, it gave me opportunities. I can't change him overnight, but I can work with him.
