Flew to Brisbane form Perth.
Then drove from Brisbane to begin our honeymoon in Byron Bay.
Because, Byron Bay!
The weather was amazing. Tropical as hell with crazy storms in the afternoon / evening
Loved it!
Byron Bay lighthouse was gorgeous.
Here's a pic of us standing on Point Byron which is the easternmost point on the Australian mainland.
(Just below the lighhouse)
Our new baby! This is the car we bought to do the road trip in.
She's sitting on the main beach here.
Just to the right (out of shot) is a HUGE "schoolies" tent, because we were *ahem* "lucky" enough to be in BB the same time as Schoolies.
Breakfast at the Why Not Cafe - highly HIGHLY recommend this place.
The food amazed the hell out of me, and they did the best lemongrass ginger tea I've ever had (including in Asia!)
Mal took me on a beach picnic one evening
We found a super secluded beach and watched the clouds roll in whilst eating beautiful fresh fish and drinking mohitos
It was absolutely magical, even if I did have a terrible cold at the time, which was further exacerbated by getting caught in a heavy downpour during the walk back to the chalet
But I will hold the memory of this evening in my heart so long as I live, this was an incredible night.
After this, we spent the night snuggled in bed watching Bond movies, as this was the night the HUGE storm hit Southern Queensland / Northern NSW.
And lastly, this is where we stayed.
About 5 mins out of town, nestled into a lovely little bit of rainforest.
Every morning we got to see water dragons and wild turkeys, it was fabulous.
I will definitely be staying here time and tome again when I make my way back to Byron, and yes, there most definitely will be a next time.
Stay tuned for more honeymoon posts to come, including "The Macabre Nichols Family Death Tour of the East Coast"
