My laptop is dead.

I don't know exactly what's wrong, but my laptop's monitor has died. Last night was the first time and it's happened like three times today. After about 10 minutes of booting up my computer, it just goes black and I can barely see the screen. I had to shine a flashlight on the screen to see when my external harddrive finished saving everything.
