I've backed up my LJ to Dreamwidth and will be posting in both places from now on. This is my first attempt at crossposting -- we'll see how it goes. :/

QAF-wise, you'll always have me anyway. I did the rewatch thing a couple of years ago and agree with you about Dave. I liked him better the second time around and, honestly, liked Brian less. Shhh, plese don't tell anyone :) Emmett, and Ted for me too, will always be a favorite. If you are so inclined to want to do a pic spam for Emmett I, for one, would be very happy!

Yay! I'm glad I still have one QaF fan still around, haha. When I went back looking at my old pic spams, so many of the names on the comments are long gone. :(

YES. Brian is almost completely insufferable for a huge chunk of S1. In early S2 he's better (helping Justin recover), but I know things are going to get bad again. :/

I'm glad an Emmett pic spam would have at least one reader! I like Ted too, though I'm not looking forward to the drug addiction plotline, ugh.

Yay! Glad there's another QaF fan still around.

I was late to the fandom too, probably by two or three years. I'm glad, frankly...having to wait a week between episodes (or months between seasons) might've killed me. ;)

What also helped my rewatch this time around was I was far enough removed from fandom and the meta that weighed down every scene of every episode that I was able to really enjoy it like I did originally.

Yes, remember the Brianite vs. Justinite wars? Haha. I feel like having both distance from the fandom and another few years' worth of life experience have changed my perspective on the series. I find myself enjoying the banter and friendship most, more so than the romance/sex.

I agree with you, though -- it was a really fun fandom in its heyday. Slightly wanky, but isn't every fandom? :)

I wonder where all the good writers are these days. They must be playing in fandoms that I'm not, or on different journaling platforms (but is Tumblr really a good platform for fic??). LJ is so sleepy these days.

Completely forgot the DW question. How did you back it up and can you make it private over there like you can on LJ? I've seen quite a few posts about people leaving LJ for DW or at the very least backing up their journals. I hope LJ doesn't go away but like everything else in life, you never know :)

I have LJArchive on my computer, which will back up your journal...not sure whether it is still available for download? For a while it wasn't working, so someone on my flist paid to have it fixed here: http://www.memory-prime.de/lja/LJa.html

And then I used the DW import tool: https://www.dreamwidth.org/tools/importer

It kept the security levels on my LJ posts, so things that were filtered or f-locked are the same way on DW. I think there is a way to just set it to back up everything as private, but I'm not exactly sure how -- I bet you could find info if you Googled.

I don't really like or dislike DW...my flist there is basically just posts that are also duplicated at LJ. But I figure if LJ ever goes out of business I'd better be set up over there too.

I love Emmett and Ted. Their friendship is one of my favorite things about the show. :)
