I feel as though I haven't been about the town like I was when I first arrived. I need to remedy this. Spending all one's time with the so-called "once and future king" isn't always quite the glory, honour, and privilege one would imagine. In fact, it's something of a headache.

You make it sound like I chain you to the bedroom floor.

I'm sure you would, if you didn't know I could easily break free anyway.

Yes, but that would hardly stop me from trying.

You do know the door is wide open. Feel free to leave at any time.

I could. But I fear the repercussions my absence would have on you. You are extremely talented at getting yourself into mortal peril.

I feel as if a lot of people have been more reclusive this summer than earlier in the year.

Really? Not just me, then?

I suppose not. I haven't been anywhere excepting my house and the bookstore. So not just you.

You would be Merlin, correct?

I-- yes. Who are you?

My name is Severus Snape. I'm a Wizard and quite curious about you. Aside from a conversation with your idiot King-to-be, I know nothing about you.

How did you come to be here?

Ah, you've met Arthur, then. I'm afraid first impressions have never been his strong suit.

An evil sorceress named Nimueh trapped me in a cave, and when I came out, I was here.
