Since when does it become evolutionarily viable for a creature to develop constant a sense of wanting it's life to not continue for no apparent reason?
lots of different mammals commit suicide for one reason or another. lemmings will actually follow each other right off the sides of cliffs. i've heard of cases of dogs starving themselves after trauma in the family. the severe macaw that i have at my old house in ashby used to live with another bird like him at a lady's house who ended up dying of cancer, and the other bird was so distraught about her death that he plucked all of his feathers out and refused food and water until he died. i'm not sure how long living beings have been consciously aware of their ability or desire to end their own lives but it's definitely not something that is exclusive to humans.
anyway, i hope uml isn't making you want to end your life.
