Well, yes and no-I'm finished school, but here in Ontario all that means is that I've made the giant leap from "law student" to "student-at-law", which is the nifty and confusing title I'll sport for the next year or so. I don't get to call myself a lawyer until I'm done articling.
I do, however, get to call myself "Doctor Alexander." Yep-U of T gives out the "Juris Doctor" degree, which is exactly the same as the Bachelor of Law that every other Canadian law school gives out, except that U of T law grads are technically doctors. Not that we would ever call ourselves that, as that would make us the self-important bastards that everyone already thinks we are, but still. It's nice to have it in the back pocket. Besides, I've got a real doctor to keep up with now.
