I actually always put Verve's "Sonnet" or "Drugs Don't Work" in my autumnal-music category. It's just got that perfect haunting, bittersweet edge to it that's... well, autumnal.

Speaking of which, I got an email from Comstock the other day advertisting their autumn-themed CD. How much do I adore the photo on the cover, which (for me) perfectly captures both the broodiness and the playfulness of my favourite season? Witness:
