Summary: Kid!verse. Little girls like to be princesses, though sometimes it's not the usual kind.
Ollie answered the door, bowl of candy in hand, and looked down at the munchkins on his porch. He blinked and did a double-take at the miniature Hal Jordan decked out in a realistic flight suit. If it wasn’t for the darker hair, he would have thought someone had de-aged Hal.
“Trick or Treat!” Maura and Marty yelled. They each held up little plastic pumpkins already half full of candy.
He squatted down to eye-level with the kids. “You look just like your dad,” he said to Marty. The boy grinned proudly from ear to ear. Then he looked at Maura. She was in a Green Lantern costume, but her face was painted up with what looked like blue tattoos around her eyes and down her cheeks. “Which Green Lantern are you, sweetheart?”
Maura pouted. “I’m a princess, Uncle Ollie!”
She said it like it was supposed to be the most obvious thing in the world. Ollie looked up at her parents, standing at the bottom of the steps. “Princess?”
“She’s Princess Iolande,” Kyle said.
Ollie chuckled. It didn’t surprise him at all that Hal and Kyle’s daughter wanted to be a space cop princess for Halloween.
