Interesting interplay between several layers of people who were once an 'us' versus 'then': Sawyer and Rose from the original team, Bernard from the Ana's group, Juliet, then the freighties. In your last sentence you call Sawyer feral and I thought this was very apt, given how he’s borne the brunt of the failed plans. When it was over I thought, "They just had a war council," then I check your title! Do you have any plans to continue? It would be interesting to see the various personalities test their agreement.

They are kind of an assortment, aren't they? I almost hadn't thought about the different groups among the Losties, but you're very right. It's interesting, considering how Otherlike I found the Losties' behavior in season 4, and how TPTB stated somewhere that the Others included people from different groups that had come together over time. Maybe we're seeing how Others become Others. I was trying to work out in my mind whether the 815ers were really on the mercenaries' hit list (why would they be, if they were thought dead?), or if Ben and the Others had something to gain from making them think they were. Once I started wondering why the Others were so mellow about letting Locke take over the Barracks, another war seemed a matter of time.

I wrote this mainly as a one-shot, but it might continue, now that the enemy has been sighted. I'd have some decisions to make--I was working to keep this canonical, so there's no Jin or Daniel mentioned, but if it kept going I'd have to decide whether Jin is alive or not. Thanks for reading!
