Having decided to live in New York for a time, Richard traveled to Boston with the intent of gathering what possession he had there and to hopefully see Dev again and tell him his news. The moment he neared the city he could feel the distress in the young human and as he drew nearer to the dwelling he shared with his lover, Richard could read his thoughts.
How could he have been so blind to not know that the vulnerable young one would feel abandoned by his departure and the long months that he had spent without a word. He had been caught up in the hunt for Karen's attackers and then the sudden realization when he returned to her last week that he had fallen in love with her. The reason for his absence and silence were valid and yet he could have taken the time to send word to the young man with whom he was now connected so irrevocably. Truly he had behaved abominably and deserved each angry thought directed toward him.
Arriving at Dev's door, he reached out and felt the young one was alone, his lover out at some meeting. Knocking on the door he waited for an answer and the chance to render his apologies for his callousness and disregard of his little one all to tender heart.
