Twas late in the afternoon when Beka returned from the gym. She'd been on her way to her room when she decided to make a small stop first.

Pounce got there first and he pushed the door further open, striding inside, his tail a flagpole behind him.

"Hello, Jonas," Beka said. "I'm sorry, my cat doesn't know how to knock."

I know, Pounce informed them both. Cats simply have no need to knock.

"Hello, Beka," Jonas said, momentarily jumping at the door's sudden movement but calming quickly. He stood, giving them both a smile. "Hello, Pounce. It's all right, the door was open enough to not merit a knock but I wasn't paying attention. How are you?"

Of course, it is alright, Pounce agreed. Just like it was fine for him to jump on Jonas' bed without asking. He was a cat after all.

"We're well," Beka said. "I just finished working at the gym. I'm sorry for startling you. How are you?"

"My fingers are a bit sore," he said, waving said abused fingers at her. They were red but not much else. "I got bitten a few times in class today. Once by a cabbage."
