Beka had noticed Jonas at the picnic, but they hadn't spoken and so it seemed fair to make up for it by visiting him now. Pounce had passed up on joining her, claiming that if he wanted to get nauseous, he'd eat some spoiled fish. Sarden cat.

She knocked lightly on the open door, smiling at him. "Are you reading sommat interesting?" she asked.
