I have a similar story, but it was Quebec City, Montreal, and Toronto.

And surprisingly, you'll have a devil of a time finding anyone who's willing to speak English to you in Quebec City. And French only kinda worked because Quebecois French is way different from Parisien French.

It's quite an experience. One I try to repeat fairly often (recently in Boston. Portland and Seattle before that. Warsaw before that).

And I'll spare this poor comment because this is going to turn into a post.

Hello testing4l of 2 years ago. I'm the guy you became! 8D

There's definitely stuff ahead of you, but the important thing is that you're still awesome. 8D

I had actually met a girl the night before, and she kept texting me trying to meet up in various places.

I wish I had your problems. :)

Haha there is a longer, saucier story there too, explaining how it managed to pass that I had not slept in three days when I took this photo.

I feel a bit guilty for blowing her off, but it wasn't a line at all. I really did need and learn from the day on my own.

So, I discovered a long time ago that I left work happier when I changed my desktop from plain black to colorful things. Furthermore, I found that pictures that meant something increased the effect.

End result: I ended up making my desktops cycle between pictures from various scenes of movies. Mostly actresses. Somewhere along the way, this picture slid into the rotation.

We first met, from what I recall, through a post similar to this that frozenfoxtale wrote about travelling in Istanbul. When I first read this, it was with that backdrop in mind.

Anyway -- it came up just a bit ago -- just as I'm trying to get myself back to posting on LJ. It occurred to me that I ought to add that your art made someone who you've never met think about you and wonder as to the state of your well-being.

If the internet's about anything, then I see no reason why it oughtn't be about that.
