[filtered from drones, kind of private musings but generally hackable as Raistlin doesn't care]

In some ways I almost miss having the drones about. They didn't constantly prattle on about symmetry for hours. I've cleared out a room in the house and stuck a cylindrical post in the exact center of the room. Hopefully that will shut him up for awhile ( Read more... )

Shattered health? Didya overexert yourself? A sage in my world died after messing around with the sealed and forbidden stuff.

Something like that. It was a condition I gained after I completed my test.

Hmm . . . Looks like they didn't want to leave any sign that you weren't normal, then.

This does seem to be the case, although there are rumors of such abnormalities being returned to us in time.

Experiments....?

I have some skill with herbs for the concoction of generally medicinal remedies, as well as a few other effects. I've been examining the native flora and fauna and seeing what I can do with it.

Oh. I see.

Medical, hmm...sorta like what I've heard of Xing's alchemy then...

Sounds interesting. What have you come up with so far?

I've been working on simulating a drink I required from my home, should my... affliction be returned to me. It required a number of herbs and was able to soothe a powerful, wracking cough. A number of the plants here though could probably be used for minor remedies, at the least. I intend to start experimenting more when I've established a garden.

Sentient golem? Hmmm... no, soul transference more likely.

In a manner of speaking. My health was shattered by a certain event in my past. This is no longer the case.

I would like to know why some people's bodies are changed when they arrive here while others are not.

Indeed. The changes to my body were by nature the shattering of my health and a curse laid over my eyes. From what I have observed, it seems that infirmities inflicted later in life may be corrected with our initial capture.

Muu. Removing curses... that's quite a power they have. Perhaps our captors could be bargained with to remove a curse permanently.

The removal of my curse is certainly not something outside the power of some. It was placed upon me by the head of the Magi at the time, it was powerful, yes, but not something beyond the power to remove.

My health, on the other hand... that is a bit more surprising. Whatever the reason, I'm not so certain are captors are willing to bargain just yet.

Are you suffering under a curse as well, sir?

I am, or rather, was, to some degree.

Yet the town restored you to your normal self... I wonder why?

It seems to desire some semblance of "normality" among it's residents.
