Calling anyone who is interested in RPing any kind of Fae!!!!
For Loke and Soren's travels, Mari and I have decided to do a spin off of howlingrpg. So if anyone wants to join as different Fae or what have that are native to the country they will be visiting. Keep in mind that the characters you join as will only be temporary as Soren and Loke will be moving from place to place an awful lot and will be meeting many different Fae and creatures along the way. The only characters that will be constant will be Soren and Loke, of course. Though some characters you join as many be reoccurring through out the rp.
So. We need to recruit characters. :-p First stop Scotland!!!
Right now, I mainly looking for people to play some Taltos.
For those of you who have not heard of them before or read Anne Rice's The Witching Hour, Lasher or Taltos. Here is a description of what they are. and you really should read those books in that order. Not the witching hour so much, as I had a hard time getting into it. :-p but the other two definately. There's also Taltos in Blood Canticle, but you need to read Blackwood Farm before you read Blood Canticle.
Taltos:
human noids who's males are like 8-9 feet tall, their females 6-7 feet tall on average. They are only pregnant for a few weeks and their babies grow to their full height in a matter of seconds after being born. They are very child like their view of the world. Like to play rather than work, and love music. Music can actually kill them if they allow themselves to become lost in it. The music will pretty much lull them into a sweet, painless death. But remember, it is only if they become lost in the music. The can fight against it and if they do become lost in it and the music stops, they snap out of their hypnosis. They love milk and most white foods, because the food of their ancestor's food was white. They hold the memories of their parents, but after a few years it fades into dream like memories. They also live for several centuries, but are not by any means immortal.
They can generally only mate with other Taltos. There are very few times when they can mate with a human but it is extremely rare. Most of the time the human female body cannot tolerate how quickly a fetus Taltos grows and it leads to a miscarriage in which the mother bleeds to death.
Pretty much the same thing happens with a human male and Taltos female union. The human's sperm can't fertilize fast enough which also leads to the female hemorrhaging.
Sometimes the union results in a short, kind deformed, wrinkled creature that looks human-esqe. There usually around the height of a 6 or 7 year old human child. In the Anne Rice books, she calls them "Little People" but for various reasons, such as I think saying that actual little people are short, deformed and wrinkly is a little bit of an insult to them. so for the rp let's call them...... Tintals (for tiny Taltos. :-p ) But Tintals generally are dangerous and blood thirsty. They resent their existance because they are neither human nor Taltos. It's like after they were born they were unable to grow to full size. So be careful if you are in their territory because they are merciless.
uuhhhmmmmm........ I think that's about it.
So if you want to join the comm (which I still have make) and want to be something other than a Taltos or Tintal that's fine too Shannon I know you want to be a kelpie. But for right now, stick to Scottish folklore.
