30 Day Song Challenge, all in one
I saw this on FB and really liked the idea of it, so instead of spamming my friends' News Feed every day, I decided to do it all in one go. Because we all know my inability to resist memes. Especially music memes because god damn do I ever love music.
Day 01 - Your Favorite Song
I have a lot, but one I stop and listen to every single time is this:
Day 02 - Your Least Favorite Song
One, I am ashamed of myself for even looking this up to show you guys, but it had to be done.
Two, I fucking hate Taylor Swift. I grew up wtih country music. I happen to like country music (the good stuff, anyway). Taylor Swift is not country and she is not fucking talented. So she writes her own lyrics? So what? Sir Elton John doesn't write his own lyrics, and he's one of the best damn artists there is. You cannot sit there and tell me Taylor Swift trumps Elton John simply because she writes her own lyrics.
Three, her lyrics suck. Take this piece of crap love song for instance:
"That you were Romeo, you were throwing pebbles
And my daddy said stay away from Juliet"
There are so many things wrong this just these two lines and their implications:

Day 05 - A Song That Reminds You of Someone
Bob Seger will always remind me of my Dad. On long drives, I always put him on, sing along, and think of late night trips up north with my Dad sitting in the front seat belting this out as the night rolled out in front of us. I love you Dad.
Day 06 - A Song That Reminds You of Somewhere
This reminds me of my car, driving up north with Francesca.
Day 07 - A Song That Reminds You of a Certain Event

Oh my god I love this song so much I can't even.

This is the only song of theirs that doesn't make me want to punch a baby. If you want good punk rock, go look up The Offspring.
Day 13- A Song That Is A Guilty Pleasure
Day 14 - A Song That No One Would Expect You To Love
This song. (It wouldn't let me emb it, damn it).
Day 15 - A Song That Describes You
Day 16 - A Song You Used to Love But Now Hate

Anytime anyone says this is their favorite Owl City song, die in a fire. This is good, but it's not their best. Try the artist out before you claim favorites.

The songs I like should stay off the radio, thanks. I don't want them overplayed.

Razia's Shadow is amazing. I don't know wtf is up with this video, but there's a sad lack of these songs on YouTube, so I took what I could get. I was originally looking for The Spider and the Lamps, but this song's good too.
(Seriously, please check this CD out. It's so amazing).

Best. Angry song. Ever.
Day 21 - A Song That You Listen To When You're Happy

I like Michelle Branch a lot, but it just reminds me of an earlier mindset I had, and how naive I used to be, and I get really embarrassed.

- If you read it, did you really, really read it? Because Romeo and Juliet is not a real tragedy. It's a black comedy. Shakespeare sat there and wrote a story about two horny teenagers that thought they were in love and ended up dying because their families have a giant pissing contest that they're both too stubborn to stop. He wrote this because of people like you who believe in TWU WUB. He's making fun of you. You are furthering his reason for writing that play.
