R.I.P
Hunter S. Thompson.
You were an inspiration to us all.
Your gonzo journalism will not be forgotten. You were a one and only. Its a shame to see you fall at such an early age of 67. But the quality of your years surpasses all of ours.

sadddnesss...he wasn't longed for this world though, why do you think he tried to claw his way from this reality with the use of all of those drugs?

Why not?
When you look at the world with an informed mind, with a developed mind it must be pretty difficult to deal with. But I don't know if Hunter S. Thompson was doing lots of drugs to escape this reality really. For some reason I just think he was obsessed with having a good time, adventuring, making trouble and being insanely intelligent about it at the same time.
When I was reading Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, knowing some/most accounts were true I thought, 'Wow, this is his job, it's like he knows what he's doing.'
But that could just be me.

yeah...it was his job, to be himself that is. Through his gonzo journalism he taught the world about himself. This eternal frenzy of drugs was a way to help him cope and have a badass time, im sure. I'm not saying that the only reason he did drugs was to try to get out of this world, im positive the main reason he did them is because he like the positive side effects. They made his genius more apparent to the world. i don't really know what im rambling about. thanks for the creative outlet though.

I was pretty bummed about that earlier today. I think the movie of Fear in Loathing in Las Vegas didn't do it justice. If you haven't read it, you should. That goes for all of you.
