There was a time when I was younger that he and I were teammates. We had a sexual relationship as a form of release after missions.
This dream seems to imply more to it than there was--though I will not deny the emotional attachment I felt at the time. But that was before Konoha betrayed me.
Now I know Konoha's true nature enough to not fall prey to its deceptions.
And besides, Kakashi is dead. [It hurts to say it, but he must. Because he must be as convincing as he can, despite the turmoil he feels. For now, Kakash is dead. But perhaps, he can be resurrected.]
They didn't tell me. He feels strangely cold, in contrast to the dream, which was so warm. He's not even sure if he's angry, he just feels so numb. Tired, really. Tired of ignorance.
Because every time Sasuke thinks he gets it, there is something else. Some new layer to the world that needs to be peeled back. He had thought that he was the only person in Itachi's heart, the one who was most important. But there was someone else. Someone whom he cared for deeply. More than a brother, he thinks.
And Kakashi is - he had thought - well. He had thought a lot of things about Kakashi, he supposes, but this wasn't one of them. He's never seen Kakashi this way. Perhaps it is just through the filter of his brother's eyes, which see Kakashi looking so bright and warm and comforting.
Eyes which look upon Kakashi with such affection, such tenderness - and Sasuke wishes - he doesn't know what he wishes, just knows that even before, when things were okay, he never really knew Itachi, never was able to offer him any

Well, not that Akira doesn't have those feelings, doesn't ever feel he's betrayed, but... it's a different ballpark. He doesn't have a brother. But he does know Kakashi, and so, that's why he has to reply. He's tugging at the collar of his yukata with uncomfortable fingers. ]
