I have no problem with capitalism or consumerism, not when done with moderation. I do have a problem with them when an unhealthy dose of "I deserve better" or "I deserve more than you do" is added.

People are generally... yech... around the holidays, until they get their fill of goodies. That's pretty childish, too.
