Give thugs guns, badges and the assurance that few questions will be asked as long as they get results, and this is what you get.

I'm not anti-cop ... we definitely need a police force. It's just that too often, the kind of people who WANT to be cops aren't idealists and altruists, but guys who just get off on power.

The scary part, the immediately frightening things to me, is that there are rumors of that kind of shit going on here in the county I live. I understand your sentiment, that the cops are needed but some are just bananas for authority and power to the point of mental illness.
