Marilla came to Appaloosa Plains not really looking for love, exactly, more like companionship, garden space, and herbs. (Herbs. HERBS.) Marilla's a bit of a hippie, so if you see her conspicuously adding herbs to her meals and drying her clothes on a clothesline, now you know why.
...other than the bathroom, that's it.

Since she's a gardener, she went to the grocery store to get some seeds.
The ingredients were 'really fresh' and cost her almost all of her money.
The door rang after she decided to start making herself a salad. (Health freaks, am I right?)
