Literature Entry Week Ten

Haunted

I shut you out,

You still engulf me;

You release me,

Though you still linger.

Ever present as the sun is to day,

My mind is forced to travel your way.

In too deep,

Yet never enough,

Bitter-sweet,

Both gentle and rough,

Connected unexplainably,

Mystery hides the key,

Great forces are at work,

All bent to set against me.

All-knowing fate sees the answers,

Time can tell too,

Eventually they’ll reveal their plan,

“Hurry, hurry, don’t miss your cue!”

To be cruel, to be kind,

No favours here are done,

Juxtaposingly they remain,

Forces you cannot shun.

Fade, fade, like the waning moon,

Eventually the mist will clear,

This withered soul will bloom again,
The light shall reappear.

The stanzas are different sizes, some have 6 lines and others 4... i liked they way they turned out so i left them, after all isn't Live Journal a fantastic tool to help us realize how we can break set boundaries in Literature, and to develop our own unique style of creative expression! Shakespeare broke boundaries, he created new literary styles and new words! While there is great injustice in likening a third year literature student to Shakespeare in anyway, i have to say two things... firstly its a thrill to break boundaries and secondly perhaps Live Journal is the type of atmosphere that can allow a new star to be born and to shine! I certainly know i have the privilege of being in a class with some amazingly talented and gifted people!
MG could have his own literary revolution on his hands with all this inspiration! I think LJ is fun.. it's certainly grown on me, and i love having a record of everything i've learnt! Nice work MG! ;)

My comment for week ten was on John's poem 'Tempest', loved it! It was very unique and creative!
I really like the idea of being a "storm in a teacup", great work once again! :)
