Warning! this contains semi-graphic images. some might find disturbing!!! you have been Warned! (includes the slaughter of an entire village)

A 10-year-old Bakura lies in bed moaning softly. he seems disturbed by something. noise is heard outside and he wakes up groaning. His mother runs into the room holding his baby sister in her arms.

"Get dressed. NOW!" she snaps quietly at him. the fear and Panic in her voice cause the drowiness to evaporate quickly from Bakura's conciousness. He jumps out of bed and grabs his white robe and quickly changes into it. it pulls over his head and his sticks his arms though the holes for them. about to put his shoes on his mother grabs him and snarls, "NO TIME!" she then runs towards the back door pulling Bakura along behind her.

the noises from outside grow louder and closer. Bakura asks his mother, "what's going on? why are we leaving? where is Father?"

"Enough!" his mother snaps as she carefully opens the backdoor. She looks around and motions for him to follow her. As they sneak outside, he gags on the smells in the air. Burnt flesh, blood, and burning houses attack his nose as screams of terror fill the night air. his sister starts to Howl in terror. her shrikes resound in the ally that runs behind their house and Bakura gasps as men appear in the far side of the ally. His mother swears and thrusts the wailing girl into Bakura's hands. "get to the shrine!" she snaps at him turning him around and pushing him in the opposite direction. "GO" she orders and takes off running towards the men slowly advanceing towards them.

Bakura looks back at his mother confusion on his face. His eyes go wide as he sees her speared through by one of the men, her death cry of "RUN YOU FOOL" echoing in his head. The men are advancing on him. they seem inhumane with the backlight of the burning city behind them. His survial instinct kicks in and he runs for all he's worth. The laughter of the men following him as he exits the ally and makes a turn towards the hidden shrine .

footsteps hurry after him as one of the men yells, "Come back here you cur! face the Pharaoh's justice!" Distracted by the cry, Bakura misses the foot stuck out infront of him. He trips and falls, letting go of his sister in the process. He scrambles to his feet only to realize that someone is standing on his back. He struggles, crying and yelling for them to let him go.

"what's the matter scum? misplace something?" a cold voice says over him. Sharp pain laces his skull as his hair is grabbed and his head forced up. Bakura stops his struggle instatnly when he sees what the man is holding. His sister.

"Let her go!" he yells finding his voice again.

the man laughs "As you wish" he says dropping her to the ground. her cries stop when she hits the sand. Bakura gasps and manages to crawl over to her, Just before he reaches her a foot smashes her skull open. blood and brains fly everywhere splattering Bakura in the face.

"NOOOOOO!" he screams and lunges at the man. Everything inside of him screams for him to get out of there, to run to safety, to hide. He leaps for the man's throat only to fall backwards as pain sears into face. the man had brought his spear up and had slashed upwards towards Bakura's right eye. He screams in pain and runs.

Bodies are littered everywhere. Death has decended upon the village like a hawk on a fish. Once more pain seares his face as a thrown dagger goes off course and cuts in the direction of his ear to his nose, crossing the first mark near his eye. Images blend together in a confused mix of the Screams of the dying, yells of "IN THE NAME OF THE PHARAOH" and the Overpowering mix of smells. Blood, blood is the most common and powerful smell. It permeates everything. He runs. He doesn't know how he manages it, but somehow he finds himself in the shrine. Only, it's not empty. He darts behind a pilliar and tries to catch his breath without making any noise.

It lasts for what feels like hours. the screams continue without an end untill suddenly, all is silent. Bakura waits still hidden in the shadow of his pillar. the silence streches and finally he gets up the courage to look around the side of the pillar. he bites his lip to keep from screaming, the killers were bringing the dead into the shrine.

---------
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Bakura forces himself awake. His entire body covered in sweat and dust. He pants and mutters darkly. "Damn, I knew I was going to have nightmares tonight." he reaches for his dreamberry and falls back onto his bed, causing another dust cloud to rise.

fate of my village, nightmare, to be continued?, bakura, dream
