The Lantern Festival
I'm getting quite excited about the Festival. I finally finished my lantern - it's a lovely violet colour, with an unusual elongated shape. And I decorated it with some patterns that were used in the earliest of these festivals. My father always used to tell me wonderful stories about Chinese festivals, and of course the Lantern Festival is one of the most important. I found the designs in a book he gave me, and I painted them blue, for Ravenclaw.
I really think the lantern competition will be Ravenclaw's chance to shine. As Padma pointed out, this project seems to be awash in Slytherins and Gryffindors. I'm glad she and Lisa have joined the project. The Ravenclaws have a good chance at the prize, I think. Padma's very talented artistically - the necklace she's made for me is just beautiful - and Lisa's been doing a lot of research.
