IMO, nothing's wrong with watching secular media as long as it isn't ungodly. Not everything pure has to be explicitly of the Christian genre. It's amazing the things I learn lessons about God and life from that didn't set out to preach anything, but just told about how we feel. I see allegories to God in so many things that clearly didn't intend to have them, and it actually strengthens my faith to see how etched the values God gave us really are inside when we try to run from them.

Like, and I know this is gonna sound crazy but I'm totally serious, one of the Pokemon games spoke more to me on the subject of suicide than any sermon ever has.

Now, not saying Christian media is BAD either. I have Christian music out of the Wazoo, I enjoy Christian comic books, and Facing the Giants is the only movie to ever make me cry like a baby. But as well, I have some clean secular songs, I read One Piece, and WALL-E moved me like woah.

Um there isn't anything against watching, reading, or listening to secular things. Obviously music movie scores are technically "secular" and I listen to them on a daily basis. In fact most of the stories I write would be considered "secular" for the fact that it doesn't come out flat with Biblical scriptures. That doesn't make it wrong ( ... )
