Lucille had been quite excited to meet someone who shared one of her passions, and that had made her shy in a way she preferred not to admit to herself. That didn't stop her from seeking her new friend out though (Were they friends? How did one know?), and she knocked lightly on the open door to announce her presence.
Cassandra had heard someone coming down the hall, but she had not recognized their footsteps. As she looked up at the sound of the knock, she immediately realized why: it was the new girl. "Lucille," she greeted, perking up - for her standards. "Good afternoon. Do come in."
Why was she here? Did she want to be friends?
... not that she was nervous all of a sudden. Perish the thought.
"I have already returned the book to the library," Cassandra said, sounding somewhat saddened by that. "But I have warned Garik that you might be by to pick it up." A beat. "...I hope you do not mind."
