While making a Barnes & Noble excursion with  nerdimusprime and roadster_guy , I decided I needed some reading material for the plane ride back to SF (since my nintendo DS got stolen some time ago, I needed stimulation for the 4+ hour ride).  So what section should catch my eye, for a change, other than the Science section.  I'd lately been feeling that I needed something ( Read more... )

Sounds interesting, I always suspected that God was not the god of religion, but what, if at all it is, I struggle with as well. From a purely scientific basis, I can't except "well there was this huge bang and the universe sprang from nothingness but there's nothing behind that"

Well maybe it doesn't mean the catholics version of a controlling force in the universe isn't behind that, but from a scientists viewpoint I want to know what is then....and don't tell me "nothing", that is as luddite as the people who said flies spontaneously sprung from nothing in the 1700's before Pastuer proved otherwise...

It sounds like you might really enjoy this book; While it doesn't give any insight into the big bang theory other than an explosion from charged particles, it does explain "who" god is, from a scientific and neurological perspective.
