Maybe it was the whole Six going away thing, but Leoben thought it was probably a lot of other things that had made him feel like he should stay closer to the cave than anywhere else

Kara was on her back on the floor of the cave. It was a tough position to get out of, but she had Leoben to haul her up whenever she so ordered, so she didn't much mind.

"I can't see my toes from here," she said after a while. She cast a meaningful glance Leoben's way.

Leoben looked down and grinned over the top of his book. "Well, they're still there."

"Yes." Kara scowled, a slowly-deepening expression as it journeyed over her somewhat...cushier...cheeks. "But I can't see them from here."

Oh right. She probably wanted him to do something. He put the book down. "How can I help you with your toe-seeing problem?"
