Well I've talked about it for the past couple years, but I finally did it this weekend. The hound dog and I marched in the St. Patrick's Day parade, with about 50 other hounds. Every year the Arizona Basset Hound Rescue gathers hounds to march in the parade to raise money to help the homeless hounds. It's a great cause, I got my hound from a ( Read more... )

Yeah, probably can't make it during the week. Have fun though. Where are you staying?

I'm trying to get my group to split a suite at the Bellagio, over looking the fountains.

I think I'd be up for it, and could probably scare up a few more bodies ;) Fountain suite at the Bellagio?

What do you do when you go to Vegas? Gambling? Go see shows? Shopping? I love going out there, but we tend to head out east of town to Red Rocks for the day to go rock climbing then come back to The Strip for nice dinners and shows.

I'd love to join you but won't be able to join you at the end of April since we have Other Things already planned. In looking at the calendar, I see that Interop is April 27th - May 2nd. It's at the Mandalay Bay, and Vegas is big enough that having a bunch of geeks there for a conference shouldn't affect your plans. L. will actually be out there for Interop. Not sure yet when she's planning to fly out or if she'll end up overlapping with you.

I go to Vegas for the shows and the food mostly. I also love to play blackjack, but I don't usually have someone to play with me(part of the reason of forming this trip). Tim doesn't play blackjack the way I do, so it's hard for me to play with him, it's frustrating. ;)

I've been hiking in the Valley of Fire, which is north/east of the city. It's pretty cool, not sure if you've been there. They filmed some movies there, so it's kind of cool to see places that posed as other planets, not to mention the scenery is awesome.

What if we went the first weekend of May? Would that work better? I really don't have any plans until OTP, so I'm pretty open about when I want to go. I know I will be going in June with another group and I like to space out the Vegas adventures.

Haven't been to the Valley of Fire. Sounds interesting. (Oh, and I wrote the wrong direction above. Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is about 10 miles west of Las Vegas out W. Charleston Blvd.)

We have plans the last two weekends of April and the first weekend of May. We're planning to go to Vegas sometime in the fall as part of a deal with a free stay at a resort for sitting through a time-share sales pitch. We haven't scheduled it, yet. Although, with that whole wedding thing you guys have going on, I'm not sure how much free time y'all will have in the fall. *grin*
